The Length Gauge, also known as an Elongation Gauge, is used to determine the elongation index of coarse aggregates.
The existing product specification identifies the apparatus in accordance with IS: 2386 Part II.
The apparatus consists of a metal plate fitted with eight vertically mounted steel pins at specified distances. These openings are used for evaluating the length characteristics of aggregate particles.
The assembly is mounted on a hardwood base for stability during testing.
